Grab Your PFDs
Finding the right teammate for a coed tournament is half the battle. The Super Vlads didn't have much choice, with a title to defend (August 2008). Also playing were wtf-we-are-a-coed-team-anyways-lol Team Beat Down, we-almost-won-on-may-twelfth Just The Tip, league stalwarts War Kittens, My Mom Is Better Than Your Mom, and Smokey & The Underhanded (who picked up the new form at the last coed tourney). Word on the street is that Tarek contacted Amy as soon as the co-ed tournament was posted, hoping no one else got to her first. Amy probably had her pick of superstar teammates, but did as my wise grandfather would have advised - "Either play with the first person who asks, or don't play at all".
One expected outcome of a coed tournament - a whole lot of snuggling. This is an unfortunate byproduct of asking people to bring members of the opposite sex. Instead of bringing the buxom waitress from the bar down the street, guys end up just bringing their boring wives/girlfriends, and committing a bunch of PDA. Caught in the act were Derekatie, Poo Flinging Hooligans, and Hey Gary, I Didn't Have To Buy A Dodgers Hat (to hit it from the back).
In round one, Team Yayo took Birthday Boy to three overtimes. According to We're the Best Team On The Street, Depending On The Street's Anthony, who fell to Yayo in the loser's bracket, "The girl on Yayo is the troof." The results don't lie as Yayo won 5 straight, including wins over War Kittens, Hey Peaches..., and a rematch with Birthday Boy before falling to Team Beat Down. Team Beat Down knew they were a favorite, and played as such. They made it to the winner's bracket semi-final, but lost to Category 5 (Tarek & Amy). Beat Down would fight their way back for a rematch, beating Yayo, O'Shea & Co. (for the 2nd time), and The Super Vlads, but Category 5 proved to be too rough of waters for Brittany and Cory (That's why it's titled - Grab Your PFDs. Because the team that won was Category 5, which is an extreme white water rapids term. You can't survive a Category 5 without a Personal Flotation Device.)

As the main tournament wrapped up, two 8-team side tournaments took place. In the first, War Kittens took 2 games from My Mom Is Better Than Your Mom to come out on top. That team name is probably true as mom shot 7/10 in one game, completely carrying Tyler's pathetic play. In the second tournament, Just The Tip slightly ruined Birthday Boy's birthday. All's fair when an extra $20 is on the line.
