Beirut (El Guapo Style)
El Guapo Style Beirut is a good alternative to beer pong, at least in the sense that it rewards precision shooting due to the spread cup layout. The game is also played at Blondie's at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
Gameplay:
To start the game, the team defending the table shoots one ball. The next team shoots three, with one player shooting two, and the other shooting the third. The player shooting 2 balls always shoots first. If that player hits those two shots, they take the third shot as well with a chance for a trifecta*. Players alternate turns starting with two shots. All beer cups must be hit before hitting the water cup for the win. If a team messes up their order, the opposition can call it out. Any made shots are negated, with the balls rolled back. Any missed shots are forfeited.

El Guapo Style Beirut - Cup Formation
Water Cup:
If the water cup is hit prior to all of the beer cups, the offending team must pull a remaining beer cup off the table, and do a shot*.
Redemption:
A team can force a water cup shoot-off if they can hit the remaining cups on the table with the balls in hand (the number of balls on their side of the table when the opposition hits the water cup). If Team A hit the water cup with the second shot of their turn, Team B has two balls in hand for redemption. If there are two or more beer cups on the table, the game is over (but they can still shoot to make Team A drink any made cups). If there is one beer cup left, Team B would have to hit both cups left without missing. If there is only the water cup left, Team B would need to hit one out of two.
Shot order is not specified for redemption. Either player may take as many shots regardless of order.
Redemption Trifecta: If a team has more than three cups left, they can only force the water cup shoot off if they have three balls in hand, and one player successfully hits a trifecta. At this point, one ball is rolled back until the player either misses (game over), or hits the water (water cup shoot off).
Water Cup Shoot-Off:
Unlike standard beer pong rules, all end-of-the-game water cup made shots must be matched for the game to continue. If Team A hits the water cup to force Team B into a redemption situation, and Team B successfully hits with the allotted shots, then Team A is forced into redemption.
*Shots:
Shots (it can be something more friendly than a prairie fire) are taken during gameplay for the following situations:
Trifectas: If a person hits a trifecta, each player on the other team has to drink a shot
Unintentional Water Cup Hits: If a player hits the water cup prior to hitting all the beer cups, both players on that team have to do a shot (in addition to pulling a beer cup).
Butler's Rules:
Pundits have questioned the origins of these rules for years, but Butler will swear by their universal use:
- You MUST drink before you shoot, no exceptions
- Fallen soldiers (balls that are stepped on) are worth two beer cups from your rack
- No eating during gameplay
- No sitting during gameplay
